It is surprising that I have been doing something simple in a wrong way for so long, and that everyone I know does it wrong as well. I was already surprised in the past that my shoe laces got untied so quickly, so I had adopted the workaround of tying a double knot. As you can see, it pays of to keep learning 🙂
